The long and tall of cast iron baths

Cast iron baths may be very traditional, but they are far from being old fashioned. These beautiful baths are renowned for giving a better bathing experience than most modern bathtubs due to the warmth, strength and durability of the material and the beauty of the design. These qualities make them equally perfect for installation in a traditional home or a contemporary bathroom.

In years gone by, cast iron baths were made in smaller sizes, due to both a lack of suitable water supply and the fact that people tended to be smaller and shorter in the 19th century than we are today. We can assure you that this is no longer the case. Today, free standing cast iron baths are designed in many different sizes to comfortably accommodate all bathers and make a real statement in your bathroom.

The Eskdale Roll Top Bath is a popular example of how virtually everyone can comfortable bathe in cast iron baths. The tub features generous dimensions – it’s nearly two metres long, and is 720mm wide by 770mm high. This means most people can relax in total comfort without having to squeeze or shuffle to fit. Despite its larger size, this remarkable tub includes all the highly cherished features you would expect from a traditional cast iron bath. We can provide the Eskdale with or without tap holes, and the tub stands firmly and securely on our attractive cast iron gargoyle feet.

We know that a lot of people are looking to find a bath ideal for bigger and taller people, or simply want to indulge in a large bath where they will have more room to spread out. While all of our baths offer luxurious comfort, the Eskdale is particularly perfect to accommodate these requirements. We have always believed that everyone should be able to access the superior experience of relaxing in a cast iron bath, no matter how big or small they are.
